Chapter Eight:

It was snowing again, soft pink petals drifting lazily in the wind. The woman caught a few with her hand as she spun slowly in the shade of a tree. She closed her eyes. The air was so sweet today, bouquets of cherry blossoms warmed to a velvet liquor in the afternoon sun. Somewhere in the haze birds sang happily. Cicadas hummed in rythmic waves.

Princess Tutu. Ahiru and Fakir.

Watercolor on 8x10 Strathmore 500 series premium paper (140lb)

[SPOILER]

Takes place right after the end of the series, where Ahiru goes back to being a duck. Fakir writes a story in which she returns to him as a human, and at the stroke of twelve, before him in the pond Ahiru transforms for the last time, with the pages of his story fluttering around her, hair undone, and tears in her eyes.

And, as the story goes, They Lived Happily Ever After.

[EDIT] Removed my clunky watermark and went with the DA watermark instead. Got some concern over it being distracting and whatnot. This way you can still see the artwork as it was intended, with the download capability turned off for added protection.

[EDIT2] Fixed the contrast/levels/sharpness of this so you could see it better. A very nice person by the name of gaz2008 helped me out with this and suggested it! Thank you so much ^_^
